Adjacent to the chapel is a small two-floor museum of artifacts from the town of Perast. Many of the items are nautical, but there was this additional room of what appeared to be just the simple antique details of and older Montenegrin life. I’ll post a few of these items over the next couple days.
Baroque Art

Moving past the images I made on the immediate island, which were fairly sparse and bare, I was surprised to see just how beautiful the interior of the chapel was. It’s ceilings and walls were covered by paintings from the Baroque Artist Tripo Kokolija, tributes from sailors who felt their lives had been spared by miracles. It was a striking contrast to the exterior appearance of the chapel. Having recently become more interested in Baroque art, specifically Caravaggio, I took a lot of time to simply stand and appreciate how beautiful it was.
