Worked on a time-lapse of Earl rolling into Norfolk between 12 and 1 AM Thursday morning. Pretty interesting cloud formations rolling by, and I did some intricate work on the city details in post, but noticed when I put it up that it lost something in the smaller web translation. Perhaps something to learn there about these small devices we are all using for content delivery. Hate to think we’ll need to dumb everything down that much.

To get the perspective the art director needed, we had to get above the vines. Wasn’t easy,(there were 144 steps from the van to the shooting scaffold) and at one point we had to cover everything for a down pour, but on the 2nd day all the elements came together and we got the images(867) for the time lapse.

While shooting in the vineyard last week, I was monitoring the images below scaffolding that had a small camera dolly rig, a wine barrel and wine glass. My first assistant was working the dolly move above me and when I looked up there were his feet. Since the computer was doing the time lapse work above, I grabbed another camera and shot the feet. Spent a couple days on a platform in a vineyard shooting time-lapse of a wine glass a top of this barrel. Heavy labor, mother nature wasn’t always kind, but the crew was solid and the outcome was great. Even brought home a friendly tick, but he never had a chance to start his meal. 

This is the sign on the rental van, and I’m off to shoot in the Virginia Wine country for the next two days. Working with a good art director, a good crew and a good location, should be fun and perhaps will post a few images. Always have Willie’s song “On The Road Again” when we’re loading out. 

Saw these flowers and some nice light in the artium (if you can call it that) in an antique shop in Montreal a few months ago.

I’ve added a professional Facebook page to the world wide web. Mostly a way for interested clients to get a look beyond my professional website Lanpher.com.  These blog images are all fairly personal, the Facebook post will be mostly work.  It’s listed under the name Keith Lanpher Photography, seemed like a logical choice for a name.

Was working on some food images for packaging products at a Creative Directors house and her cat Jake came in for a visit. They’ve known each other a long time.

This was not a part of the assignment, but I was laying on the ground setting up a shot, when I noticed the whimsey of the moment. The clothing stylist FedXed these shoes in from New York for the shoot. I think the talent would have been happier if they hadn’t arrived. She said she had other shoes like this too, but sometimes her feet hurt.
